public and private institutions in Japan. The period can be 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year.<br \/>\r\n      Many with a training residence status are entering Japan from Asia; leading countries include China, followed by the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.<br \/>\r\n      Since 2011, however, the number entering from each of those neighboring countries has drastically decreased, particularly from China, which previously had a notably large presence.
