individual foreign nationals by the Minister of Justice for a period not exceeding 5 years. Examples include public servants, for instance, diplomats and those on working holidays. <br \/>\r\n      Numbers entering and departing Japan from the People\u2019s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, Southeast Asian countries, and Australia, all close to Japan, are steadily increasing.<br \/>\r\n      In addition, numbers entering from France, the United Kingdom, and Germany in Europe and from the United States and Canada in North America are also high. These regions include countries with sharp increases and decreases. Indeed, some developed countries that had experienced a temporary decline saw a sharp increase around 2014.
